Meet Amanda 'Athena'

Amanda "Athena" of Rakhshanda Tribal Bellydance has been dancing specifically tribal style bellydance for almost 3 years.  She currently holds 2 teaching certifications, one in Gypsy Caravan Style and the other in Gitano Amaya style.  She has studied with many other famous bellydancers including Rachel Brice, Carolena Nerrocio, Jill Parker, and Sharon Kihara.  She is married to a supportive husband and has two furry kitty children.

Meet Janelle

Janelle has completed her level 1 certification with Yoga Fit and is currently in the process of completing her 200-hour training with Shiva Rea. She has been practicing yoga for 6 years, but did not begin to practice seriously until 2006.  She has studied Iyengar and Vinyasa Flow through several different teachers, including Trish Washburn.  Janelle’s teaching style is creative, calming and diverse.  She believes that yoga brings freedom to the body, mind and spirit.  Her desire to bring this freedom into the lives of others is what inspired her to become a teacher.  She has been working with teens and children in various ways for 6 years; working as a nanny for several different families as well as programs through the Oconomowoc YMCA.  She feels the younger a person begins to connect their mind and body, as well as live an active lifestyle, the longer he or she has to live a more fulfilled life. She practices a safe, but creative yoga, playing a mix of contemporary music along with traditional yoga music. She is most grateful for the opportunity to teach what she loves so dearly.

Other Certifications:  Child Abuse Prevention, Adult/Infnant CPR, First Aid, Early Education in Child Care (88 hours)

Meet Trish  'Yoga Trish'

Trish Washburn received her teacher's training from Kriya Temple and has studied with numerous yoga masters. She has over 600 hours of Teacher Training and has an avid thirst for self-study. Her fluid, fun style comes from her own experiences and from being open to different teaching styles. On her yoga journey, Trish has studied many different types of yoga - including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Bikram, Baptiste, and her latest intrigue; Forrest yoga. Trish is inspired by the deep transformations of body, mind, heart, and soul that yoga can engender for practitioners.

Trish’s teaching style is fun, creative and non-judgmental with an emphasis on releasing everyday stress and negative attitudes to experience the joy yoga brings. She brings a fun modern edge to her Vinyasa & Power classes by incorporating unique and modern music, dynamic flows and challenging variations to the practice. She is firmly grounded in alignment principles and an avid fan of yoga philosophy: lessons in yoga, perhaps lessons in life. Trish believes that people are drawn to yoga for many different reasons and within each class students are encouraged to tailor their practice to their individual needs. Always open to questions, she is able to tailor classes to students’ needs, and encourages acceptance of each moment as a necessary step along the path of well-being.

Other Certifications: USA Cycling Level 3 Coach, CycleOps Power Indoor Cycling, Mad Dogg Athletics Star 3, AFAA, Sports Nutrition, BOSU Master Trainer, AAAI Yoga Instruction Phase I & II, Child Abuse Prevention, Adult/Infnant CPR, First Aid

Trish's Self Practice Philosophy

On my mat I remember how to feel, how to let go, how to forgive, and how to grow. I choose when to challenge myself and when to back off, when to be bold, and how to be gentle. I find my balance. Yoga offers me a wordless place that I can find, deep in my breath where my mind starts to seem less important. I can move to build heat, to burn away my struggles, and to let my heart become free; free to feel. There is discipline in asana: shoulders-back, pelvis tucked, feet rooted, spine long, inhale/exhale, rotation inward and outward reaching, keep focus on nothing but everything. I become completely present. I find forgiveness as I exhale. I am truly able to uncover my graceful self, easy in my own body, soft and grateful in my heart.  Witnin my practice, I find a place...a space...where I am complete with alive stillness connected to God.

A Note From Trish

When you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life! I have a true passion for fitness and helping others better themselves. We have the responsibility to take care of these bodies we were given. It doesn't come easy. We all need a little motivation and encouragement. According to Proverbs a man (or woman) without a vision will perish. Dream big. Be passionate. If you are persistent and consistent you will achieve your goals. If no one is laughing then your dream is not big enough. Do it. Your life is your message!

Peace in…..peace out. Have faith and do yoga!

With all the pieces of my heart, I can not thank you all enough for this wonderful gift of opportunity!!

Blessings,

Trish
